We talked a lot with the owner, and Joffrey our wrapping partner. We did other versions before this final one, and the main point of discussion was “seek uniqueness and raise the bar”.
We proposed this 2-level technique as a last resort. We worked on 2 graphic layers, the carved part placed as the first layer reproducing the Polynesian art and inserting parts of the owner’s tattoos. Then we did the second layer, finishing the glow-effect and purple smoke in a black background .
There was a need for careful coordination and information exchange between our studio and wrapmyride.nu, to make sure everything fit together perfectly. It wouldn’t have been so easy with anyone else.
